Baseball Returns to Activity.

Latrobe Valley Baseball Association clubs have been eagerly awaiting the resumption of the 2020 LVBA Winter Season during the covid-19 pandemic. LVBA was due to start early April with the 40th Gippsland Championships which was to be held at Burrage Reserve - home of the 2019 premiers, Moe Newborough Dodgers.
Baseball Victoria recently announced "Return to Activity", following the State Government changes to covid-19 restrictions. Gameplay is not to resume though training will be allowed to recommence from 9am on Monday 25th May 2020.  All Victorian Baseball Clubs will need to follow strict guidelines with changes to on-field training and use of club facilities.

In order to resume training, players will need to register for the 'Return to Activity' for free. There has also been a cap placed on training attendance numbers of 10 people and 2 coaches per group - though multiple groups can train at the same time provided they distance themselves from each other and don’t mingle.

Clubs will also only be able to use their toilet facilities as everything else remains banned.

With no date currently set to return to play, everyone is eagerly awaiting the announcement that we can get started.

The LVBA committee will meet virtually on Monday June 1 so that they can discuss what the coming season will look like.

The committee will look at potential season dates and how best to operate while still being under restrictions. For more information about the guidelines you can head to the Baseball Victoria website.
