Latrobe Valley Baseball Season 2020 Preview
Covid-19 made a difference to the Baseball season not just in the Latrobe Valley area,
Kris Johnson will be stepping down as league president of the Latrobe Valley Baseball Association. Johnson built key leadership goals, the respect between clubs and baseball knowledge throughout the baseball clubs. The president role has recently become available for someone who has got short term and long term successful goals for growing the baseball association. Also, the passion for the sport.
Samuel Gillett has returned for another season as league secretary after taken over former 2018 secretary Eric Robinson. There is no change to league treasurer and publicity officer as Tim Wilson continues as LV Treasurer and Renae Steer continues as LV Publicity Officer.
LVBA welcomes back Eric Robinson for the 2020 winter season, Robinson will be the LV statistician, which will be handed over from 2019 statistician – Samuel Gillett. Robinson will be monitoring stats and games throughout the 2020 season.

this includes with John Kus taking over Dan Smith as the President. Traralgon Redsox favourite secretary Nicki Townsend is back for another season with the club, with the help of Peter Townsend. 2019 Club Coach Brian Spiteri means business coming back into 2020, aiming to look for a premiership after being so close in 2019. After 5 dedicated years being president of the Churchill Braves, Brad Jones has stepped down to welcome 2019 U13 premier coach – Gregg Duncan. Duncan having a number of long term and short term goals for the club, hopes to achieve these with the help of the juniors and seniors at Churchill Braves. Braves have also had many other changes, Samuel Gillett stepping down as club secretary to welcome Georgia Larkin. The Churchill Braves will have 3 new senior coaches in 2020. Introducing (A) Grade Coach – Brad Jones, (B) Grade Coach – Dylan Eldridge and (C) Grade Coach - Samuel Gillett. 2019 was a great season for Churchill Braves taking home both U13 and U16 premiership shields, this was history in the making for the club. Gregg Duncan will continue coaching in 2020 for the U13s, while in U16s Gary Larkin will be the 2020 coach taking over from 2019 U16 premier coach - Samuel Gillett. What a year it was in 2019 for the Dodgers, not only taking one shield back to the clubrooms, but all three senior premiership shields. Can the dodgers do it again in 2020??
Dodgers Eric Robinson is back on the scene, but not just as LV Staticatian but also has taken over from 2019 President Jason Smith. Robinson will see the 2019 three senior grade premiers fight to hold onto their shield for each grade over the 2020 season. Ashley Poxon remains as Club Secretary for another season, as does Tim Wilson who will be staying on as Club Treasurer in 2020. Jason Smith joins David Bloomfield as they are Vice-Presidents of the Moe/Newborough Dodgers. The Dodgers are looking forward to hosting one of the biggest Gippsland Championship in over 20 years with the help of Morwell Cougars over two days. Moe/Newborough Dodgers will be putting up a tough fight in seniors trying to hold onto all 3 senior premiership shields. After a tough competition for the cougars and hosting not one, but two state winter championships. The Morwell Cougars are keen and looking forward to doing it all over again in 2020. President Chris Heppleston will be seeing the Cougars into 2020 with the help of Floyd Haines has Vice-President. Morwell Cougars Secretary Nicole White will be the point of contact for club as Nicole was great in behind the scenes in the 2019 season. Treasurer will be remaining the same with Darren Flannigan continuing another season. New member of the 2020 committee is Kristy Glass. Kristy will be Canteen manager and club scorers coordinator.
